Wes Hall's Israel Purpose Dream

At the beginning of 2003, Wes Hall had some very powerful dreams relating to Israel and to what Wes believed to be one of his primary callings. Before coming to Kansas City, Wes had no real grid for Israel and its end time purposes. To him, Israel was just another nation that obviously had some significance in the past. “To explain and teach on God’s purpose for Israel to the body of Christ,” was shocking to Wes. “Israel was not part of my grid then, but now it is,” he said. In one dream, he was in the small IHOP trailers on a Friday or a Saturday night, and a major evangelical leader from Europe was there as a guest speaker. He said, “Look my assistant is with me, and she has the word of the Lord for this community.” So, she stood up and said, “This is the word of the Lord for this community. God has replaced Israel with the Church.” Then there was mayhem in the room, and the whole building got up in anger. In the dream, Wes was in the back, and he was becoming worried about the safety of this young woman. So, he ran up the aisle, and he held up his hands, “Just leave her alone. She is wrong. She just doesn’t realize it.” Then it was like a courtroom scene. The girl’s boss stood up and said, “No, she is right.” Wes replied, “No, she is wrong.” Wes pulled out his Bible, and he opened it up to the book of Isaiah, and Wes went through all Old Testament prophets. The man came up with an argument supporting replacement theology, and Wes would refute him with the Scriptures. Then the man would come up with another argument, and Wes would again refute him with a Scripture. This went on and on until this man realized he couldn’t win, because Wes had an answer from the Bible for every objection this man from Europe had, who would throw out, denying that Israel had a place in God’s end time purposes.

Wes woke up from the dream thinking, “Man, I wish I could have taken notes on those Scriptures.” From this point on, Wes really started to take this topic very seriously. In the beginning of 2003, he went on a journey to really understand this subject from the Bible. For the next two years, this was the primary thing that Wes gave himself to when studying the Word of God while he was sitting and praying in the prayer room.

Wes told the Lord, “If this is you, then I will find it in the Bible.” He started in Romans 11, where he observed that the Gentile church’s primary mission to the Jews was in verse 11, “…But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the gentiles.” It was Wes’s conviction that every Christian believer should know this chapter, and anyone who can read can see there is much said about the relationship between the Jews and the Gentiles in this chapter. Wes said, “The primary role of the church this side of the second coming is to provide for Israel in these last days. He is going to release His voice and His activity within the church, so that Israel enters her destiny, which is found in Genesis 12:3, “…And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Wes was encouraged and learned that it was God’s design to bless all the nations through Israel, and that Israel receiving the Messiah was about restoring everything in the whole earth.”

Wes taught me, “The covenants of God are irrevocable.” God’s covenant to Abraham has not been replaced, and God’s covenant to David has not been replaced. God doesn’t change his mind on legal agreements. Wes, while he was in the prayer room, gave himself to praying for Israel. This was kind of surprising for him, along with his call to study deeply in the Word of God about this subject. Wes later taught a Forerunner School of Ministry (FSM) course called A Biblical Theology of Israel. This course came out of his findings over his two years of study, giving people a Biblical basis to pray for Israel. Our calling to pray for Israel is not just based out of sentimentality because when trouble comes, and believers have to stand with the Jews, sentimentality it is not going to keep us strong. You must know it is God’s heart and God’s will.
